The 2026 Foot Locker Under-20 and Ivor Burge National Championships are underway Ballarat! Follow along all week for daily results, standout performances and recaps.

DAY ONE

Day One is in the books at the Foot Locker Under-20 National Championships, and Ballarat delivered the goods.

Victoria enjoyed a strong opening day, edging New South Wales 77–70 in the women’s competition before holding off Western Australia 99–93 in the men’s. Victoria Navy split their results, with the women defeating Western Australia, while the men went down to New South Wales.

South Australia fired with wins across both men’s and women’s divisions, while Queensland and Tasmania also got on the board, setting the tone for a competitive week ahead.

As the Under-20 action unfolded, the Ivor Burge athletes arrived in Ballarat for media day, beginning their Championship journey ahead of opening games tomorrow. The group also took part in a 3x3 hit-out, using the fast-paced format as an opportunity to gain exposure and prepare for the week ahead.

Australia’s next generation of elite basketball talent has kicked off 2026 Foot Locker National Championships tip off at Selkirk Stadium in Ballarat, Victoria.

Across six action-packed days, the nation’s best young athletes and VIRTUS-classified representatives will battle it out for the Championship title — plus the return of New Zealand in the Ivor Burge Men’s competition.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there! The inaugural 3x3 Championships will light up Ballarat later in the week, tipping off this Friday alongside all the action.

ABOUT

The 2026 Under-20 National Championships will be held from Tuesday 27 January to Sunday 1 February The Ivor Burge Championships are for athletes with an intellectual disability, in line with VIRTUS classification requirements, and will be held from Wednesday 28 January to Sunday 1 February.

The inaugural 3x3 Championships will be held from Friday 30 January to Saturday 31 January.

The 2026 Under-20 and Ivor Burge National Championships is held at Selkirk Stadium, 989 Norman Street, Wendouree VIC 3355 in Ballarat, Victoria.
