Grand Final Match-Ups Confirmed for Foot Locker U16 Nationals

It's Grand Final day tomorrow! Victoria Metro are into both deciders, taking on Victoria Country in the Women's and Queensland South in the Men's.

U16 WOMEN — Norma Connelly Trophy

Reigning champions Victoria Metro booked their spot in Sunday's decider with a commanding 75-56 win over South Australia Metro, powered by a 21-point outing from M. Mrdic. Victoria Metro turned it on in the fourth quarter, outscoring their opponents 23-8 to close out the contest.

They'll meet Victoria Country in the Grand Final, who edged out Queensland South 74-68 in a tightly fought second semi-final. Queensland South's N. Moke was dominant with 26 points, but a balanced scoring effort led by M. Childs (18 points) and M. Cox (16 points) proved enough for Victoria Country to get over the line.

Sunday's Grand Final will be an all-Victorian affair, with Victoria Metro looking to defend their title against a Victoria Country side that has been one of the form teams of the tournament.

U16 MEN — Robert Young Shield

Queensland South put in one of the performances of the tournament, running away with a 101-70 win over South Australia Metro. The result was built on a dominant second half, with Queensland South outscoring their opponents 61-35 across the final two quarters. E. Whitehouse led all scorers with 26 points for South Australia Metro, while T. Miles (18 points) and J. Cleland headlined a balanced Queensland South attack.

They'll face Victoria Metro in the Grand Final, who cruised past Western Australia Metro 99-55 behind a dominant all-around effort. M. Akingbade and M. Adio scored 20 and 23 points respectively, as Victoria Metro extended their unbeaten run through the tournament.

Victoria Metro will be chasing back-to-back Robert Young Shield titles and a shot at back-to-back "navy doubles," having swept both Men's and Women's gold in 2025.
