Participation Division – ANY SCHOOL CAN ENTER THESE COMPETITIONS

This division is open to all schools to enter teams. The competition is broken up by age groups and then into further divisions.

A new record of 224 has been set for Team Nominations for Participation Divisions in 2026.

Late Entries | Expression of Interest

Teams wishing to nominate for any vacant spots can complete this form indicating their interest ASAP.

BA will be in contact with teams for available spots on a first-in basis.

Age Groups

The Participation Division will offer three (3) age groups:

• Under-20 (Senior): These students must be under 20 years of age as of 31 December in the year of competition.
• Under-17 (Junior): These students must be under 17 years of age as of 31 December in the year of competition.
• Under-15 (Freshman): These students must be under 15 years of age as of 31 December in the year of competition.

Divisions

Please put comments on your entry as to which division you think you should be in Basketball Australia will make final decision on where your team plays.

Each age group will be divided into divisions to allow for varying levels of ability.
The Australian School Championship Organising Committee (ASCOC) will determine what divisions are available prior to opening registrations each year based on expected attendance.
A division must have a minimum of five (5) team registrations to be valid.
The ASCOC reserves the right to merge or create new divisions subject to nominations.
